Shri Vaishnav Agrasen Gaushala Agroha Hisar, Haryana

Shri Vaishnav Agrasen Gaushala is one of the oldest cow shelters in Haryana, located in Agroha Dham (Agroha-Hisar), the ancient capital of Maharaja Agrasen, just 20 kilometers from Hisar. The Gaushala was established nearly 100 years ago and was officially registered under the Societies Act 1860 on January 11, 1965, with registration number 54. It is also registered under the 2012 Societies Act with registration number 672. Furthermore, the Gaushala is recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India with registration number HR057/1999 and is also accredited by the Haryana Gau Seva Commission, Panchkula, with registration number HGSA/2014/135.

Many dedicated Gau Bhakts have contributed to the service of cows at the Gaushala. After the support of Shri Devisahai Jindal, Shri Shivram Jindal, Shri Omprakash Jindal, and Shri Dharmdev Bindal, the Gaushala is now managed under the guidance of Shrimati Savitri Devi Jindal, Shri Mahavir Prasad Jindal, and Shri Nand Kishore Goenka. Currently, Shri Rajendra Kedia, Shri Krishna Kumar Godkhpuriya, Shri Satyanarayan Goyal, and other associates are responsible for its operational management.

Over time, the number of cows in the Gaushala has grown from 525 to 2315, which are housed in 25 shelters (roofs). The goal of Gaushala is to expand its capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 cows in the future. To take care of the cows, 90 employees are working, and two veterinarians have been appointed for the health and well-being of the cows.

The Gaushala spans across approximately 175 acres of land, of which 20 acres are used for shelters, vermicomposting plants, and other facilities. The remaining land is utilized for growing green fodder for the cows.

The operation of the Gaushala is primarily funded by the donations made by Gau Bhakts. To ensure the smooth functioning of the Gaushala, a Cow Service Plan has been initiated, where any devotee can become a member by contributing ₹5,100 annually and participate in this noble cause.

Every day, a special Sawanmani Arpan (traditional food made from jaggery and khichdi) is organized. Devotees can contribute ₹1,100 to offer food to the cows on their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, ancestors' death anniversaries, or other auspicious occasions. Additionally, on Ekadashi, Chaturthi, Amavasya, Purnima, or any auspicious day, 7 Sawanmani meals can be organized, for which a contribution of ₹7,700 is made.

This Gaushala, following the principles of Maharaja Agrasen, stands as a symbol of devotion and care for cows, serving as a beacon of service to these sacred animals.
